Are Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger the last of the dinosaurs?

Domestic football's two most successful and long serving managers hosted a question-and-answer evening for the League Managers Association at Wembley Stadium last night. And both managers offered there support for the resignations of King Kev and Curbs, in the wake of decisions being taken on transfers without their knowledge or consent. Do you think mangers with the longevity of Arsene Wenger and Alex Ferguson will ever be seen in football again, or are they the last of a dying breed of long serving managers?

Traditionally England had managers and the continent had coaches with football directors etc, right?

They have to work as one to be successful, but I think that the days of the manager are numbered and the UK will soon be following in the continents footsteps.

Whether it is going to be successful remains to be seen as always.

Personally(subjectively) I feel that that was one of the aspects of English domestic football that made it unique and perhaps even more enjoyable. hmmm...
